We're here to help!

Prior to the pandemic, 2.4 million New Yorkers faced financial hardship. Nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers, including one in every five children in the city, were food insecure. These figures increased dramatically during the pandemic and remain at all-time highs. Nearly 1.5 million New Yorkers, including one in every four children, now face food insecurity.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the ensuing economic crisis have exacerbated New York City's hunger crisis. According to Feeding America, food insecurity has increased by 36% citywide and 46% among children throughout the pandemic. However, hunger is not distributed evenly around the city. It is especially acute in communities of color, who have been disproportionately damaged by decades of inequity and systemic failures.
